The AGA Man to serve final course

Following a strategic review of the AGA business, there are some commercial changes planned, as well as some changes to the workforce. Unfortunately, one of the commercial changes will see AGA cease their involvement in Point-to-Point" target="_blank">Point-to-Point horse racing, and the current season (2015/16) will be the final one for AGA as a national Point-to-Point sponsor.
A further change will see the face of the AGA sponsorship for the past six seasons - David Simpson, universally known as ‘the AGA man’ - leave his role with AGA Rangemaster on 5th February, although he will be undertaking some consultancy work for AGA so will continue to represent them as ‘the AGA man’ at fixtures in their current series (there are 14 remaining). David has decided that the time is right to move on and he will be specializing in PR, marketing and events, he will also continue to attend fixtures as an owner and a passionate Point-to-Point enthusiast.
David said “I have thoroughly enjoyed being the AGA man, my involvement with Point-to-Point horse racing has quite literally changed my life (for the better), and pointing has gained an Ambassador for life. The AGA sponsorship was never going to last forever; however, we have forged a great working relationship with the Point-to-Point Authority, and I hope that AGA will return to the sport in future years. I am also incredibly proud of the huge positive impact that AGA has had on this wonderful sport, pointing is in good nick and will continue to go from strength to strength”.
Clare Hazell, Chief Executive of the Point-to-Point Authority said “The PPA would like to thank David Simpson for his passionate support of Pointing over the years through AGA’s National Sponsorship. He has orchestrated so much inventive promotion that has underpinned our strong partnership with AGA, and played a key role in raising the profile of the sport, in particular our Lady Riders. David is one of Pointing's greatest fans and we wish him all the very best for the future, both in his career and as an owner.”
