Howdens PPORA Jockey of the Month – February

Gus Levinson, from Andoversford, Nr Cheltenham.

17 year old Gus Levinson is the third winner of the Howdens PPORA Jockey of the Month award.

He says ‘I would like to thank Howdens for their sponsorship of this award, I amvery grateful to Pony Racing and hunting for all the riding experience it gave me to begin with’.

Gus was nominated by Chris Loggin, the PPORA South Midlands Representative and for having ridden 5 consecutive winners on the same horse, Premier Portrait, this season, as a Novice Rider.

Gus is currently at boarding at Radley College, however as soon as he has a spare moment, he is back riding out for his Father, the trainer of Premier Portrait, and neighbour National Hunt Trainer Kim Bailey, from whom Premier Portrait originally came from!

Other nominations put forward for February’s Jockey of the Month were Rory Bevin, Charlie Buckle, Izzy Marshall, Claire Hart, Louis Muspratt, Lee Drowne and Christie Furness.

Gus will be presented with a Harley Racing Voucher.
