Impressive portfolio of sponsors supporting new Point-to-Point season

Cheltenham Gold Cup-sponsor Timico is supporting Point-to-Point nationally for the first time when the new season opens.

Backing a valuable nationwide series of 14 mixed open races, which will all be run for the maximum total prize fund of £1,000, the series will culminate in a £25,000 final at Cheltenham’s evening hunters’ chase meeting on Friday 5th May.

Skinners Pet Foods has stepped up to fill the gap left by AGA, and will sponsor the ladies open race series. They are supporting 20 races across the season, concluding with a hunters’ chase final at Stratford Racecourse on 9th June.

Celebrating their 10th year of involvement, Connolly’s RED MILLS once again sponsors the 14 races that make up its popular intermediate series, culminating in the lead up to a prestigious hunters’ chase final at Cheltenham on 5th May. Connolly’s RED Mills continues to support the national championships for the leading horse, and, under their supplement brand Foran Equine, the leading trainer titles.

Iconic car manufacturer Subaru will sponsor 30 national qualifiers for its hotly contested final at Stratford Racecourse on 9th June. The same sponsor is backing the points-based ‘Subaru Restricted Championship’, which runs up to the final, and results in the owner of the winning horse receiving the loan of a magnificent Subaru Forester for a year.

Building on the success of last year’s Point-to-Point National Hunt Flat (bumper) races at Aintree and Exeter, Goffs UK are in place to support them for another season. Open to all 4-, 5- and 6-year-old horses who have finished in the first three in any maiden Point-to-Point, horses that place in either bumper are offered a wild-card entry to Goffs UK Spring Sales (22nd - 25th May 2017).

The Jockey Club is increasing its support of grass-roots racing and sponsors two additional races in the popular Mares’ Maiden Series. It also continues to sponsor the Champion Novice Mare award, including a prize money bonus for the winner should they run under Rules at a Jockey Club racecourse.

Dodson & Horrell’s patronage is synonymous with pointing and the company is continuing their partnership with the PPORA through their Novice Riders’ Series. This year sees their 30th consecutive year of involvement with the sport. The series takes place over 12 races with the final being held at Garthorpe on 21st May.
