Revesby Races 2021

The gates of Revesby Park

The Revesby Races Team wish to assure you that it is doing everything possible to hold the 2021 meeting at Revesby Park on Sunday 10th January 2021!

The 2020/21 point to point season started earlier this autumn with racing occurring behind closed doors with great success.  The systems and protocols put in place were agreed safe by Inspectors.  However, like everything else, point to pointing had to temporarily cease during current lockdown restrictions.  As a safe sport, we all hope and expect that activities will recommence after 3rd December.

Revesby Races made the decision earlier in the year to continue with the hosting of its meeting, even if that meant behind closed doors.

Why? We want to assist in supporting the amateur sport of point to point racing both for those directly involved along with bringing the enjoyment to the community local to Revesby and beyond. Revesby Races has become an event where communities from near and far are brought together in the very special setting of Revesby Park. The team are forever grateful for the continued loyal support that the Wiggins-Davies family have given these past 4 years, 2021 marks our 5th year back racing in the Park in recent times.

A final decision as to whether the meeting will run behind closed doors will be made in the next few weeks by racings governing body and subject to all restrictions imposed by Government, Public Health England and East Lindsay District Council.

Behind Closed Doors – What does this mean?

In the event of Revesby Races having to hold the meeting behind closed doors admittance shall be strictly limited to Officials, Trainers and support teams, Jockeys and Owners, all of whom must be pre-registered before the days racing. All those attending will be subject to a prescribed gate/entry procedure.

This sadly means we cannot have any public in attendance. However, as always we will not be defeated Revesby Races are working hard to ensure that the public can still enjoy the thrills and spills occurring at Revesby Park through a FREE TO VIEW internet stream supported by ‘We-Stream-events.com’. This is rather an exciting new step for us all and there are lots of opportunities to ensure that Revesby Races can deliver exciting racing; live interviews with those involved on the day; insights into the construction of the course through to ‘On the Yard’ preparations with horses that may be running on the day. Plenty to keep all interested.

Keep an eye out therefore on our Facebook page ‘Revesby Races’ for further details of the ‘REVESBY RACES STREAM’

Importantly, the only way Revesby Races are able to progress and continue is with the support of its loyal and unbelievably hard working team of sponsors and volunteers. Without them we could not dream of hosting the day, so a big ‘Thank You’ goes out to you all.
